Domaine Sebastien Brunet

Born and raised in Vouvray, Sebastien Brunet was destined to be a vigneron. He studied at the local viticultural school under the mentorship of local figure Vincent Careme. His father Michel inherited 4 hectares in 1974 and made a move to produce his own wines under the name Domaine Roche Fleurie. Sebastien joined his father after his studies and worked together for 6 vintages. Following his father passing in 2006, Sebastien took the estate to a new level.

First, he acquired an old underground mushroom cellar from the XVI century; the carved tunnels are the perfect environment to mature and cellar his wines. Over the years he grew the holdings to about 15 hectares in the surrounding villages of Vernou and Reugny along the Brenne valley, a small tributary of the Loire River. The cellars conveniently located right in the middle in Chancay.

Working organically came as an evidence, vinification from Sparkling to the dry wines is as natural as possible to make expressive wines, a contrast to his quiet personality.

Both the Sparkling and Vouvray “Les Arpents” see a little bought in grapes also following organic principles.
Arpent, named after the first plot of the Domaine that was around 1 arpent (acre) in size.
Renaissance name marks the new direction "rebirth" and generation with the arrival of Sebastien, the other cuvees are named after each individual Vineyards.
