Champagne Charpentier, Terre d'Emotion Rose Brut NV

£77.30

A real showstopper and pretty Champagne that reminds us of a ballerina in Swan Lake. To achieve this elegance, Jean Marc chose once again to dig into the family knowhow for its composition. The secret being a majority of Chardonnay, amazingly high at 88 percent. The remaining being the addition of a delicate red wine made from Pinot Meunier. If you like French Provence rose you will absolutely adore Terre D'emotion Rose. The prettiness does not stop at the colour, but the nose is bursting of red berries, think red current and crushed strawberries. The palate is supported by the signature freshness and very delicate bubbles. A little like strawberries and cream.

Jean-Marc dug deep in the family books to craft this super delcious rose. First by showcasing their beloved Chardonnay grape which brings bags of freshness in this Champagne. Then by adding red wine made from an exceptional vineyard of Pinot Meunier called "Les Chauffours". The oldest plot of Meunier planted in 1961. Infused with the Limestone soil from the Charly sur Marne amphitheatre this blend will be matured on the lees in the cellar for 48 months.

Terroir: Marne Valley. Crus of Charly-Sur-Marne and Saulchery. Vineyard Plots: Les Chauffours, Les Garennes. Varietals: 88% Chardonnay, 12% Pinot Meunier (red wine), no Pinot Noir! Geology and Soil: Limestone marls on soft limestone from the Lutetian era, together with millstones and silex. Fermentation: Stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks. Long alcoholic fermentation at ultra low temperature, with yeasts indigenous to Champagne. Assemblage and Reserve Wines: Assemblage using only first press wines and 100% Pinot Meunier from our oldest vines (65 years). Blending with reserve wines aged in old oak barrels, from Champagne and Burgundy, adds to the complexity. Ageing: 48 months maturation on the yeasts. Disgorging: 6 to 10 months prior to shipping. Dosage: 6.5 g/l.
